On our way home from St. Augustine we stopped to explore Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island. This was a real treat for Zuma, I planned it so she would get to cut loose after a couple of days of heat. Doug bought a long piece of rope from the local campground store and we let her wander amongst the fantastic driftwood pieces. This was Heaven for her, climbing and running and jumping over and around the land-deprived trees.
Kelly stays here at the RV Park most of the time and she had told me about the beach but I didn't realize how MUCH driftwood is there. It is really a spectacular beach, haunting trees both standing and fallen over. I've certainly never seen anything like it and will definitely take Zuma there again.
She absolutely loves it there.
Zuma played brave dog and galloped in the waves, gallantly barking at them and lapping them.
She was clearly smiling, Dog Style. She has a good memory, but it's short. She forgets that salt water tastes awful. Ugh, salt water. She drank a LOT of fresh water once we returned to the car.
What a beautiful place. Zuma was so excited to be on the beach.
