This morning, among a multitude of spring fruit and vegetable treasures, there were fresh, locally grown radishes and strawberries:
Locally made breads and pastries:
Hand crafted colorful rag rugs :
Live Irish Music
And lots of great dogs!
From cheese to chorizo, tomatoes to tamales, bouquets to bee products, it's all there.
Even fresh quail eggs!
After we arranged our purchases at home, we ran a few errands and came across dozens of people and kids at a Comic Book Store dressed up as their fave comic book heroes. This moving figure was coaxing people in off the busy street; a large comic book store was hosting a huge event:
I knew Emma would like to see a Dalek costume! The store was mobbed and everybody was having a great time! It was so nice to witness families doing what the kids love. And they even got Dad into stretch pants, LOL! Hey, it takes a lot of people to make the world go round ....
Later in the afternoon, after we'd completed the organizing side of our life, we landed at Wedge for a cold brew. Because it was hot. And because it's a fun place to relax on a sunny Saturday afternoon. And because we felt like a cold beer. Seated on long picnic tables with strangers who are just people we hadn't yet met, we chatted and sipped. Best of all, Wedge, like so many places with outdoor seating, is dog-friendly. The wait staff offered Zuma and the other dogs fresh cool water. As usual, Zuma made many human and canine friends, if only for a few minutes of our happy day together.
I read somewhere these are "yardstick conversations". Love it.
There is always a lineup at the visiting food truck (the trucks have a schedule and take turns at different venues):
The music was playing, songs from the 60s and 70s.
It was warm all over and so were we and Zuma was feeling the love and sharing it:
"Come on, people now,
Smile on your brother,
Everybody get together,
Try to love one another
Right now ....
Right now ....
Right now ........ "
(Thank you, David Crosby).
