Road Sistah

February 28, 2017.

Ya know, I couldn't ask for a better Road Sistah.

Zuma is always delighted to be asked along and hop into the car.
Me:  "Road Trip?"
Zu:  "Ooohhh Yah"!
No matter where we take her, Zuma gets along with everyone.
She softly gallomps into any situation and
the Scooby Doo magnet goes off and ....

Zu is the Road Sistah you're chuffed to be with.

She has well-schooled table manners and
is regally appreciative when restaurants cater to her.

My Mum used to say, traveling with a friend is a true test of friendship.  If that's the case, Zuma gets an A++++.

Zuma gets uber enthusiastic when we open the car door.
If I pick up the car keys,
she knows we're going out and gracefully blocks the door so she ensures she's going with me/us.
My Road Sistah lovvvves a road trip.
She's especially impressed when I cater to her packing needs
'cuz she's pretty busy most of the time.

She thoroughly enjoys living in Hula Girl.
People can't believe she fits in here, but, like most Danes,
give 'em a bed and they just lay around all day.
Danes are not generally the type
to exercise aerial maneuvers indoors.

Zuma loves hotel life and is the perfect roommate.
She especially enjoys a nice pillowtop mattress,
it just doesn't get any better
than when she has a whole bed all to herself
so she is able to stretch out those long legs.

Zuma is an ice-breaker at a party.
And we all know how she thrives at a party.

She's humble.
We told her this coffee shop was named after her.
She just smiled.
It's all good.

She's polite and kind to admirers.

She's up for anything.
Nothing beats a Spa Day.

Well, she doesn't care for the towel thing
but it helps with the crazy
shaking off the waterfall aftermath.

She's made many friends, big and small.

She is totally tuned in to those who "get" her.

She loves Buskers, especially sharing travel stories
with them and their dogs ....

Zu is aways attracted to the smallest dog in the venue.
And vice versa.

She's not afraid to explore, especially with her best friend Alis.

She's super patriotic.

We can drive for hours and Zu is happy to be nestled into her bed in the back of my car; she never makes a sound.  Sometimes, we look at each other and ask, "Is she still back there?"  That's how mellow she is.  However, when we stop at Rest Areas and for meals while on the road, she comes back to life, bounds out of the car, wondering what new adventure lies ahead.  Her attitude is always positive.  She never makes a fuss and, as Doug frequently remarks, "she is just so happy to be with us", no matter where we've landed.

Road Sistahs.  They're hard to find, The Good Ones. We feel truly blessed we have a family member who is this easy going, it just makes the journey so enjoyable, seeing her thrive with all the daily changes and enthusiastically enjoying every day bein' a Road Sistah.

    1. We're having such a great time! Zu is fantastic! we're heading back to Maine in a month or two, then we'll winter here. I simply cannot get around in ice or snow and here I'm able to walk miles a day rather than hobble around. How is your Mom? I catch a bit of news here and there on Fb but I'm worried about her. I hope you got some answers at the rrecent hospital visit. Bless her heart. Please give her (and yourself) a big hug from me. We're so happy Brian is helping us out so much. It will be wierd to go bak home and see all the changes, but Doug shows me pix and I trust Brian's taste, it will be so nice to see all the improvements! Now if Doug would allow him to fix those stupid screen doors!!!!
