Last night Zuma woke me up by
Dr. Matt Pisani has a mobile veterinary van that is the perfect solution for vet care if you have a big ole dawg. He comes right to the door. Literally. Plus, he's totally awesome and knows I love my dog and I would totally take a bullet for her. So, I called him and he came right over. Did I mention that he's totally awesome?
Zu's my BFF. There's no sign of infection, she's just gettin' to be an old lady dawg. Sometimes, Life's a bitch, man. She's horribly embarrassed about that wet spot but I don't make a fuss about it because hey, there, but for the grace of God go I. Being an old lady and all.
Now she's gonna be on meds for the rest of her life to control this. I knew this day would come. (Reaching for tissues). Stuff happens to these giant breeds and there ain't a whole lot you can do to prevent it, no matter how hard I try to feed her the best food and supplements and exercise her and keep her healthy. Zu turns 5 on April 11th and Great Danes have a short life span so sh** is gonna start happening, parts are gonna fall off, quit working, ya know?
Throw money at it, it's fixable. But it still makes me cry.
