We've become somewhat obsessed with Farmer's Markets; they call them Tailgate Markets in this area.
Plus, we're developing relationships with some very cool people and everybody greets Zuma by name. She LOVES going to the Markets.
We regularly buy from a 30-something couple who make phenomenal Artisan breads (Simple Breads), a gentleman who grows micro greens, cheese makers who raise their own goats, flower growers whose colorful booth is bursting with gorgeous exotic tulips and spring flowers every Saturday, a man who makes delicious mustard from scratch, a beekeeper who sells fabulous hand cream (hey, Burt's Bees started out like this), a young guy who makes pure fruit popsicles (King of Pops). Knowing who makes the products we desire makes going to the Markets an extra special experience.
It just makes sense to buy local, food that doesn't travel is so much more fresh. Food just tastes better. The sellers at the Markets are very proud to provide quality organic and non-GMO products., often using heirloom seeds and always practicing sustainable farming. It all makes shopping a really nice outdoor pleasure.
