If you've never experienced altitude sickness, I can only say it's not for the faint of heart. Both Doug and I had to take a few days to adjust to the 7,200' altitude in Santa Fe; thankfully, Zuma had no problems whatsoever. We felt shortness of breath, dehydration, dizziness and overall sluggishness (as in, who tied these cement blocks to my feet?). While walking around the city one day, Zuma and I met a man who told me that's normal at that elevation. I recovered after a couple of days but Doug felt it more. Everest? Not happening.
In the downtown area, there are 'Oxygen Bars', places you can go and inhale oxygen to help you combat symptoms. The other option is to find a good Health Food store and buy yerself a bottle of liquid Chorophyll/Oxygen and snarf down a few drops each day. This works BUT ..... there's a physical side effect .... let's just say that your toilet bowl will display some green/blue objects you didn't know you were capable of producing.
Jus' sayin'.
p.s. I'm not posting pix. You're welcome.
