It's been a really busy week of (mostly) totally hilarious book-worthy tales but I'm saving those stories for the book and just quickly updating the blog as so much is going on it's making my head twirl.
For two days this past week we didn't have a steady source of internet because the Park is changing the systems here so I'm a little behind ....
Zuma turned 5 on April 11th! Happy Birthday Zuma! I'd love to say we did it up with a huge party but we just took it easy because Zuma hasn't been feeling quite up to snuff, poor girl. She was doing really well with the urinary incontinence with no 'plumbing issues', until her Birthday (how ironic) and that morning her pipes started to leak. Not just the occassional 2 - 4 inch circle of trickle that wakes her up, but a full out pee on her bed. She woke up horrified and smooshed her muzzle into my face to say so. I called Crossroads Mobile Veterinary Service and Dr. Pisani came right over. She is now on medications that are supposed to kick in any time now.
Our plan has been to leave here on the 24th and head north. Today, Zu and I are supposed to move into a nice nearby hotel where Doug will join us on the 19th and then we'll have a few days here saying goodbyes and hanging out with friends before we begin the return trip. The best-laid plans, ya'll. Sigh.
So .... Z and I are choosing to lay low here for another night as she is so embarrassed about her current medical issue. We're waiting for the medication to kick in.
