Missi organized another tubing trip and seven of us ventured out on The French Broad River last Saturday afternoon, including Doug. He's been wanting to go out on the river ever since we landed in Asheville. The river looks brown and murky, due to the clay soil in this area. We didn't mind the color, it was a steaming hot August day and we were going, rain or shine! We all cooled off quickly because heavy rain blew in and we all got soaking wet until we sought shelter from the storm under a bridge.
It's so relaxing. There is nothing to do but chat, smile
and soak up the sunshine.
Forget all your troubles
and responsibilities, just go with the flow. Literally!
Here we are floating past New Belgium Brewery.
We did hit some outcrops (ooch, lift your butt), a little scrape/bump and it was over. We steered around the worst of them and enjoyed the fast parts (rapids) of the river. The rain stopped, the sun shone, it was a fun day. Thanks again, Missi for providing the tubes and organizing another super great time on the river!
Great memories!
