Here she is enjoying fresh water slurps at Chai Pani in Asheville:
Healthy Indian vegetarian lunchtime snacks for us:
This is one of many doggie bakeries bringfido.com recommends:
Seriously, ya'll, this is a DOG BAKERY. These are dog treats. Zuma has a very sensitive stomach but she is able to nibble these treats with no aftermath. Believe me, Doug is not at all fond of the aftermath:
If anyone can complain about a "double-bagger", it's Doug. I pride myself in "picking up" with one foul swoop and only using a single bag. Back in Maine on our farm, Zuma trounces off into the woods for a private poo. For the past six months we've been "bag slaves" and, while I can (usually) delicately remove the evidence with one Dollar Store baggie, Doug requires two heavy-duty expensive units to "scoop the poop". "It's all in the wrist action", I tell him, "you have to ROLL IT". I'm a fanatic about diet so there are usually no surprises. Many a hysterical giggle-fest has occurred over Dane doo doo.
Last weekend we set out for Greenville, SC and strolled the main street and Falls Park in the city.
It is a dog-friendly destination with water elements placed throughout the downtown area, reflecting the Falls
and the park in Greenville, SC.
I saw a sign for PAW PAWS and we diverted off the main street to check out a doggie shop because, seriously, this is a trip about a dog and Zuma LOVES doggie shops. The owner, Ann, creates beautifully hand-sewn leashes, collars and dog beds. We found a leash that suits Zuma perfectly:
photo of new fab leash coming in a couple of days, stay tuned ya'll!
you'll all want one!
Discovering Paw Paws and meeting Ann was the highlight of our weekend. Somehow, the topic of bringfido.com came up and Ann advised us that there is a 10th anniversary celebration party of the webwite in Greenville this weekend and we must go! The founder of the website we love so much lives in Greenville! So we hustled back to our hotel room, signed up for the party and booked a room for Zuma and I this coming weekend.
The next day we toodled around the downtown again and we met lots of cool people and dogs:
Zuma is all about "sharing the love":
O.M.G. What will I do without this wonderful creature?
We get a lot of comments about Zuma's "bling collar" (which was initially a joke as she is a roll in the hay (or worse) farm dog gal) but it's become her signature style, LOL. A girl's gotta have some bling, right?! Several times we've been stopped on the street because people want a collar like this; in Savannah the pet shop we frequented said they were overrun with orders after people saw Zuma's collar while we were walking around! We immediately ordered an extra one. Gotta keep the girl in bling, haha!
We enjoyed listening to a woman Busker; she had three little ones sitting peacefully on the sidewalk while she worked entertaining passers-by, complete with a baby on her back!
Greenville is pretty cool.
We love it that is totally dog-friendly.
Our car is at the dealership having some work maintenance work done, hopefully it will be ready tomorrow so Zuma and I can attend the bringfido.com celebration!
