Love Thy Neighbor.
The deadliest shooting in U.S. history occurred today.
The world has been frozen by the media's coverage, horrified that so many innocent lives were snatched away by a single act of sheer hatred. We are all in shock that LGBT people were targeted by a lone gunman as these people were simply having a fun night out, meeting with their friends, dancing and laughing and sharing the music, unaware that a mass murderer lurked in the shadows. And then, as one survivor said, "The music stopped".

Tomorrow, America will lower the flag to half mast in memory of those who were killed in Orlando a week ago, to pay their united respect to the friends and families of those whose lives were brutally cut short so suddenly in a horrific act of violence.
Asheville held a candlelight vigil one evening last week and hundreds attended, this being a totally accepting, peaceful community. Hundreds of people attended, candles lit up the crowd, flowers were laid down, tears were shed. The world mourned.
Such a senseless act.
A little more than a year ago, our daughter Emma lost a friend who was struggling with transgendering. She was a dear, sweet and caring soul but she succumbed to the social struggles and took her own life. Alone. Emma and another friend knew she was depressed about transitioning and they went to her home with sushi and desserts that evening to cheer her up but knew something was wrong when she didn't answer the door. They called the police, who immediately arrived at the scene. Then Emma and friends waited for hours as the authorities moved in en force. Finally, the police told her anxious friends that "she's gone".
In this beautiful world we have been blessed to live in, we must unite and stop the prejudice, the bullying, the judgmental behavior, halt gun violence in this country and support ALL people, regardless of race/gender. We're all just human.

Last night in Orlando, a HUGE vigil was held for the victims of the massacre at Pulse. 50,000 plus people attended. I think that pretty much says it all.
